Summary

The Independent Outside Sales Representative is BTI’s in-store connection to bicycle retailers. In this role you will maximize your existing retailer relationships by communicating BTI’s full breadth of product, services and promotions. In addition, you will look for new ways for BTI to add additional value to each account.

Responsibilities

  • Provide industry-leading service helping bicycle retailers become more profitable
  • Learn BTI’s breadth of brands, services, and promotions and effectively present to retailers
  • Communicate regularly with BTI team providing territory feedback and suggestions on growing business
  • Troubleshoot customer issues and leverage your experience along with BTI’s resources to help retailers adapt in a challenging retail environment
  • Identify industry trends and other growth opportunities for both retailers and BTI

Basic Qualifications

  • 2+ years of outside sales experience in the bike industry, preferably in the targeted territory
  • 2+ years of previous bike shop (or similar) experience, including knowledge of the shop's purchasing habits and service area needs
  • Strong understanding of the bicycle industry and a passion for bikes
  • Technical knowledge of current bike products and standards
  • Sales driven, self-motivated, positive, goal oriented, with a high degree of professionalism
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Hard worker and a team player
  • Availability to attend events and be on the road
  • Exceptional time management, organizational and multitasking skills

Valuable Experience and Skills

  • Complex negotiation and data analysis skills are a plus
  • Comfortable with Excel, Word, email
